HOW TO VOTE!
Have you got questions about how to cast your  vote on January 23rd? Voting is easy. You have two choices available to you on or before January 23rd. You may: Scenario #1 Vote where you currently go to school -or- Scenario #2 Vote where your family currently lives
Scenario #1: Voting where you currently go to school
You may register in the riding where your campus is located. This can be done very simply by calling 1 800 463-6868. Once you are registered you can vote by pre-polling, or on the regular Election Day, January 23rd. To find out the locations of the closest polling station to your campus for pre-polling and Election Day, click here.
Now a few scenarios may come up where you are still not registered, and Election Day is upon you! You have options. If you have not registered, make your way down to the local polling station on Election Day to register, which you may locate by clicking here. You will need to bring with the following:
- Either one document containing the elector's name, address and signature (such as a driver's licence; see Table 1 below for additional examples);
-or-
- Two documents:
- One containing the elector's name and current address; and
- One containing the elector's name and signature (for example, a SIN card or credit card and a tax bill or a phone bill).
It's that simple. By registering ahead of time, or with the proper documentation, you may vote in the riding where you are attending school.

Scenario #2: Voting where your family currently lives
This is a tad more complicated than Scenario #1, but is nonetheless easy. To vote in your home riding, you need to register in this riding no later than January 17th, 6:00pm. Meaning, Election Canada must receive your form and documentation by this time. To obtain a special ballot form, click here.
Once you have printed out the form do the following:
i) Fill it out completely; ii) Ensure that the form is signed and dated; iii) Ensure you have included photocopies of the necessary documentation of proof of identity and residence. Necessary documentation is the same as Scenario #1:
- Either one document containing the elector's name, address and signature (such as a driver's licence; see Table 1 below for additional examples);
-or-
- Two documents:
- One containing the elector's name and current address; and
- One containing the elector's name and signature (for example, a SIN card or credit card and a tax bill or a phone bill).
Once you have sent off your information, you will receive a ballot package. Fill it out immediately. All ballots must be returned to Elections Canada. If the ballot arrives later than 6:00pm January 23rd, Ottawa time, the vote will not be accepted.
It's that simple! It is irrefutable that Voting is easy. By following the steps in this section, any confusion can be avoided, and voting is made easy. Which means that the next you see you Member of Parliament, you can pay them the criticism or compliment with the full knowledge that it is your right as a voter!
Remember, you cannot be denied the right to vote. If you show up at a polling station with the proper documentation, you MUST be allowed to vote!
